Physiological activity：
1: Maize whisker, also known as "dragon whisker", has a wide range of preventive and health care purposes, so there is a saying that "one corn whisker can be called two liang gold". Maize whiskers contain crude fiber, crude protein, polysaccharides, flavonoids, and crude fat. Studies have shown that the water extract of maize whiskers can reduce the volume of calcium oxalate crystals in rats; and the flavonoid extracts of maize whiskers can significantly reduce the degree of joint swelling in gouty arthritis model rats.
2: Corn silk extract rich in phenolics and flavonoids is often reported as an inhibitor of α-amylase and α-glucosidase. Corn silk extract can significantly reduce the levels of reactive oxygen species induced by hydrogen peroxide or methoxyglyoxal in rats, reduce the viability of rat pancreatic β cells, inhibit cell proliferation, and improve insulin, glucokinase and pancreatic duodenal homeobox. -1 mRNA expression enhances glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, thereby regulating blood sugar.
